Ik heb vorig jaar in een paardenzaak is garderen vliegenspul gekocht, speciaal voor donkere paarden. Het is dus ook donkerbruin/zwart spul, het stinkt wel behoorlijk, maar helpt goed. Hier zit nl GEEN citronella in. De naam weet ik zo niet meer, maar zodra ik de pot weer vind van de week zal ik het even laten weten.

Ik kom net op de site en lees telkens stukjes, vandaar dat ik zo laat reageer.
Onze merens staat bij nog 16 andere paarden.
(die paarden zijn allemaal van onze kennis)
Alle paarden daar hebben last van vliegen, behalve onze merens.
Wat geef ik hem? Pure knoflook.
Hij is er dol op. Hij eet eerst de knoflook en daarna pas zijn brokken.
Onze kennis zei:"al mijn paarden hebben last van vliegen behalve die van jou. Wat geef je ze?" Ik vertelde dus van de knoflook.

Ik geef hem een hele teen knoflook, de andere dag ook en dan zie je het verschil al. Daarna geef ik hem niet eerder weer knoflook dan dat ik merk dat er weer vliegen bij hem komen.

Ik geef geen knoflook omdat er kans is dat het paard dan bloedarmoede krijgt. (knoflook is familie van de ui, en dat is niet goed voor paarden) Bij Domi is dat het geval geweest. Door een vetrinair onderzoek tijdens een endurance kwam de veterinair erachter. Ik ben opgehouden met het voeren van wat knoflook en het is ook over gegaan.

Fleur krijgt ook geen knoflook meer. Steffi vd laarse is bij Fleur geweest, en Fleur heeft nogal vaak last van een opgetrokken buik, en toen zei ze dat haar leverenergie niet goed was. Ze vroeg of ik knoflook voerde, en dat was zo. Sinds ik gestopt ben daarmee heeft ze helemaal geen last meer van die buik. Die knoflook was niet goed voor haar lever.
