Tips voor de trektocht:

Ik maak ieder jaar een trail ergens in Europa (ik ben net terug uit de pyreneeen.) en ik kan jullie misschien nog wat tips geven. Wat betreft de uitrusting: Op de trails die ik gereden heb hadden we ook zadeltassen. Daar kan best veel in. En met schoenveters kun je een trui of een regenjas aan je zadel knopen, vooraan de ringetjes. Gewoon oprollen als een lange worst en dan voor de voorboom van je zadel vastknopen. Rijden met berg/wandelschoenen is erg handig in combinatie met chaps. Ook voor het lopen naast het paard bijvoorbeeld. Tegen doorrijden kun je je voor het rijden insmeren met huidfix. Dit middel is te koop in de grotere ruitersportzaken en het werkt echt! Dan is het ook erg handig om nog een buiktasje te dragen, maar dan op je rug gedraaid. Je kunt er heel wat spulletjes in kwijt zoals een fototoestel, zonnebrandcreme, etc.
En een bidon met water kun je ook om je middel hangen mbv een bidonhouder. Op deze manier kun je te paard veel meenemen. En je hebt er met rijden geen last van.
Op de trails die ik gereden heb hielden de paarden hun halster om onder het hoofdstel. Het halstertouw wordt dan met een speciale knoop vastgemaakt zodat je paard er geen last van heeft en je weer ruimte vrijhoud in de zadeltassen.
