Ik vraag me af of er merensbezitters zijn die hun merens met een ijslanderzadel rijden . Is de bouw van een ijslander erg verschillend dan van de merens ? Ze hebben beiden een vlakke schoft , en wat me bevalt aan de ijslandezadels die ik op foto's gezien heb is dat het zweetblad niet zo storend op de schouders ligt als bij gewone zadels , maar meer vertikaal . Ik ben dus op zoek naar een geschikt zadel voor Paola , die bijna geen schoft heeft ( maar ze komt wel wat omhoog lijkt het de laatste tijd ) Ik rij haar nu zonder zadel want de gewone zadels passen niet . Ik heb een tijdje een ijslanderzadel gehad maar die bleek te lang voor Domi, drukplekken gekregen, en zadel verkocht. Ik heb nu een Massimo Trail voor haar. Ligt heel goed en zit heel fijn. Schouders mooi vrij, breed kanaal voor de ruggegraad, mooie zachte kussens en zachte zit.

Ik vind stocksaddles vaak te zwaar en vaak zadelmarkt kwaliteit.... Zelf ben ik helemaal gek van de Massimo Trail (ook goed voor brede ronde paarden zonder schoft) en de Guichard zadels:
